Kapil Muni Ashram is the most revered pilgrimage site of Gangasagar, associated with the great sage Kapil Muni. It is believed that King Sagar’s 60,000 sons were liberated here and the holy Ganga descended to earth. During Makar Sankranti (Gangasagar Mela), lakhs of devotees visit for the sacred dip at the Gangasagar Sangam and darshan at this holy ashram.
